DENISE MARKBREIT

Profile

I am an artist/maker specializing in printmaking. Retired from NYC public schools as an arts educator, I establishedAsheville Print Studio+Gallery in 2017 as community centered green studio/space/gallery in Asheville, NC. I represented over forty printmakers from across the country, curated and hung bi-monthly themed shows, taught weekly classes, hosted nationally known guest teachers and special events, and provided studio memberships. In the 2024 fiscal year, 10,000 people visited the space. APS & G was completely destroyed by Hurricane Helene September 2024. Reestablishing a studio with the same ethos and intent has birthed Print House, this time with a partner in Anna Bryant.
